After graduating from Birmingham Medical School in 2003, Andy worked as a house officer at Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield. He then spent time working in Australia, undertaking A&E and general medical posts in both Brisbane and rural Queensland. Andy began his anaesthetic training in 2006, initially working as a senior house officer at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, and later joining the Birmingham School of Anaesthesia’s registrar training rotation. With the exception of Hereford County Hospital, he has worked at all the other hospitals within the BSA.
Andy was appointed as a Consultant Anaesthetist at Russells Hall in 2013. His clinical interests are obstetric anaesthesia, vascular anaesthesia and cardiopulmonary exercise testing. He has a longstanding interest in training and medical education, and was appointed as College Tutor at Russells Hall in 2018.
