Relocation & Travel Expenses

New arrangements for the payment of relocation and expenses for junior doctors which will apply nationally, have come into force. The arrangements took effect on 1 November and apply to all new starters from August 2020. 
 
The single framework will replace a wide range of different arrangements and funding allocations which currently exist across the country.  Under the new national framework trainees will be able to claim up to £10,000 to cover relocation and excess mileage costs over the duration of their postgraduate training which will be fully funded by HEE.  

BMA/JDC representatives are being consultedf about the proposed date for existing trainees to move to the new framework – at present, options include 1 April 2021 or 1 August 2021.
